Welcome toSt Augustine's Catholic Primary School

2019 - 2020

Welcome to Foundation Stage with Miss Harwood and Miss Steele in Nursery and Mrs Doherty, Mrs Goodwin and Mrs McGrory in Reception.

In Foundation Stage, we aim to deliver a curriculum that will excite, stimulate and challenge your child. We plan our Learning Environment so that children can access a wide range of planned play based activities, both indoors and outdoors as play is at the heart of how young children learn best. It enables children to extend their skills, develop their confidence and independence, develop their ability to solve problems and relate to others. Children are encouraged to use skills that enable them to be an effective learner by being curious, willing to have a go, being resilient, thinking of ideas and having a go and to be determined and proud of their achievements.

The Curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage underpins all future learning.

We are guided by our Catholic faith, our mission statement and our virtues - these help us to grow in faith and love for one another. Our class vocational statement is 'God made me so I am special', and our Class Saint is St. Anne in Nursery and St. Joseph in Reception.

We hope you enjoy our class page and finding out more about all of our wonderful experiences at St Augustine's Catholic Primary School!

We love and learn together by growing in friendship with Jesus
