    Uniform Policy

    Our uniform is an important part of creating a sense of belonging as well as being practical and comfortable. The Governors are most appreciative of the effort made by parents to send their children to school in smart uniform.

    The majority of the school uniform can be purchased from any of the local supermarkets or Department stores. For any items that have a logo, details of where to purchase are next to the item and school badges can be bought from the school office. 

    The required school uniform is:

    Winter Uniform (from 1st October until the Summer term)

    Boys
    • Raincoat/Winter coat - Plain Navy/Black (required) 
    • Blazer - Navy with school crest (optional and school crest can be purchased from school) 
    • V necked Jumper - Navy (required)
    • Trousers - Grey (required)
    • Socks - Grey/Navy (required)
    • Shirt - White collared, no polos (required)
    • School Tie (can be purchased from the school office)
    • Shoes - Black (required). No trainers, gastro trainers or boots
    Girls
    • Raincoat/Winter coat - Plain Navy/Black (required)
    • Blazer - Navy with school crest (optional and school crest can be purchased from school)
    • Cardigan - Navy (required)
    • Pinafore/Skirt/Gymslip - Navy (required)
    • Socks - White/Navy (required)
    • Shirt - White collared, no polos (required)
    • School Tie (can be purchased from the school office)
    • Shoes - Black (required). No trainers, boots, heels or open-toed footwear

    Nursery (Boys and Girls)

    • Raincoat/Winter Coat - Plain Navy/Black (required)
    • Sweater - Round necked, navy with school crest (required - can be purchased from Monkhouse Uniform Specialists, either online, or via their shop which is in Mell Square.)
    • Shirt - White polo shirt (required)
    • Trousers - Navy jogging bottoms or leggings (required)

    Summer Uniform (from after Easter until the end of September)

    Boys

    As above except boys can wear:

    • Pale blue Polo shirts (required)
    • Grey shorts or grey trousers (required). 
    Girls
    • Blue full gingham check dress only (required).
    • No skort style dresses. 
    • Open-toed sandals are not allowed.

     P.E - Boys & Girls

    • T-shirt - Yellow round necked (as Ladybird, no polo shirts)
    • Shorts - Navy Blue (not Lycra or cycling shorts)
    • Trainers - to wear for lessons (no astro trainers permitted)
    • Track Suit bottoms for all children - plain navy (no leggings permitted). 
    • School jumper or cardigan can be worn on PE days
    • No logo/designer items permitted (Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Canterbury, Under Armour etc.)

    Children in Year 1-6 can wear their PE kit to school on their allocated PE days. Timetables are issued, so that parents/guardians are aware of PE days, as these can change each term.

    Examples of uniform

    Dress code

    • Small ribbons/ hair bands in school colours only. No large bows or accessories.
    • Hair should be tied back once it is at shoulder length (both boys and girls).
    • No beading in hair.
    • No lines or severe shaving. 

    Accessories

    • Book Bags in school colours with the school logo are available from the school office. These are best to use for children from Nursery to Year 2 due to items sent home. 
    • Summer Baseball Cap in school colours with the school logo are also available from the office.
    • Optional - Navy Yr6 Leavers' Hoodies - date to be set by Head Teacher on when these can be worn to school. 

    Jewellery 

    • Children should not wear jewellery in school, except watches from Year 2 when they can tell the time.
    • No fit bits or 'smart' watches are allowed.
    • Earrings are not permitted even studs (from September 2025, linked to AfPE rules). Letter sent about changes July 2025. 

    If you are planning on having your child's ears pierced, this should be carried out over the summer holiday. Children who have their ears pierced during term time will not be able to take part in PE or swimming lessons for 6 weeks.


    ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME

    Lost property is located within the main part of the school, close to the office.

    We do our best to return named items to their owners.

    Items without names, that are not collected, are either disposed of or sold through our second hand uniform sale.
