As the Head Teacher of St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School, it is a real honour and privilege to welcome you to our school website. Governors, staff, parents, members of the parish and pupils all make St Augustine’s the outstanding school it is today.
St Augustine’s is a small community family with a strong Catholic ethos, where we strive to live by our mission statement, ‘We love and learn together by growing in friendship with Jesus’.
Our overarching aim is for the children in our care to feel safe and happy, in a stimulated and challenging environment, with a life-long love for learning; where Christ is at the centre of everything that we do. Throughout your child’s education at St Augustine’s, we will encourage them to grow to be responsible citizens, living the Gospel values and being able to make a positive contribution to the wider community.
The success of our school is based on the strong link and partnership we have between our parents, Governors and parish community. Fr Dominic is a regular visitor to school to celebrate masses and work with the children. We are blessed to have an active Parents' Association which not only raises funds for the school, but also provides social events for parents and children throughout the school year.
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, called ‘Discovery Learning’; enriched with visitors, trips, events and activities to immerse the children in their learning. Each week during our assemblies we share stories from the Gospel, learn about special feast days and celebrate the children’s talents and successes.
I truly believe that we have dedicated staff who will do their very best for your child. We aim to have an open door policy to welcome you and discuss your needs when we can. You are most welcome to come in and see for yourself all of the lovely things that we do on a day to day basis. I would like to thank you all in advance for your support and hope that we can continue to work together for the benefit of the children.
We hope this website helps you to find out a little more about our school and that you enjoy your visit.
